Feasting and Banqueting at EAA Texas Fly-In, But Get Your Tickets Now

The good news is: the hangar at Hondo Municipal Airport where each evening's dinner will be served is new and air cooled courtesy of a most generous exhibitor, Cool Space.

The bad news is: the hangar will seat only about 350 of those pilots who attend The EAA Texas Fly-In.

Pilots are people who habitually plan ahead. So those who aim to attend the feasts and the Saturday Awards Banquet should make reservations soon. Or as your teen-aged daughter might say: Like, now.

Nan Shannon will prepare a great many of her delicious cookies which may be purchased for dessert. Or to eat just about any time.

Dinner tickets for all three evenings can be purchased through the web site: www.swrfi.org/forms/meals_reservations.htm, or by calling (830) 889-8802.  PayPal will work on the web site, or credit cards over the phone.

Thursday night's feast will by popular demand be Evelyn's Flight Line Cafe hamburgers cooked to order. With those inimitable Flight Line home-baked hamburger buns. Because cooking to order takes more time than serving food prepared in advance, the May 11th evening feast will seat only about 200 persons. All the more reason to make Thursday night reservations now.

Three hundred fifty people can expect to get in to the South Texas ranch barbeque feast on Friday night, May 12th.

Civilian astronaut Mike Melvill will speak on Saturday night, May 13th, and the banquet will be a Mexican dinner. Mariachis will perform. Awards for aircraft judged during the fly-in will be given.
